Durham's Heart of Carolina Chorus recently won the Carolinas District's (NSC) annual chorus competition!  We had a blast in Charlotte at the Spring NSC District convention, and at Saturday's contest, the guys of HOCC pulled off a first-place showing in the District Chorus competiton with a winning performance of "Let's Burn Up The Town" and "If I Only Had A Brain."  We're glad to have the District's traveling Championship trophy back in Durham for another year.

HOCC also brought home the 2015 Chorus of Note award, for the strongest chapter membership growth during 2014.  We'd love to add more voices to our ensemble - come to one of our Thursday meetings and see what it's all about!

Think you might be interested in singing some excellent a cappella with Heart of Carolina?  Join us on Guest Night Thursday, April 4, and see what we're all about!  You'll see a very short performance, then will be invited to do some singing with us, meet our members, and enjoy some refreshments!  The fun starts at 7:30pm in the auditorium of the Forest at Duke retirement community, 2701 Pickett Rd in Durham.  Map:

Information on the Barbershop Revival project:

No Strings Attached, a youth quartet of HOCC teenage members, just returned from the NC/SC district convention and competition loaded down with trophies!  NSA earned both the district’s Youth and Novice quartet championships. While they sang together in last years’ championship chorus, the four just formed their quartet last fall. A young Durham man, 16-year old Michael Adams, sang bass and anchored the winning quartet, whose other three members are all Green Hope H.S. students: lead Michael Friedrich, tenor Daniel Ramsey and baritone Adrian Lopez. Adams is the home-schooled son of Dr. Bill Adams, director of the Heart of Carolina Chorus and music educator, and his wife, Nicole, of Durham.
