Good food, great singing and guests were in abundance at the most recent HOCC guest night. We celebrated the recent AA Plateau win from the Spring Carolina's District competition by "carefully" cutting a custom cake donated by our intrepid president. Guests were invited to warm up wih the chorus and were then serenaded with a few recent numbers. Dr. Bill taught some fun tags (tags are the end of a song) where guests joined in and experienced the joy of ringing a chord.
Thanks to all our guests for coming! We hope you had a good time and will come back to join us as we learn new songs and share the art of men's a cappella harmony.
Durham's Heart of Carolina Chorus recently won the Carolinas District's (NSC) annual chorus competition! We had a blast in Charlotte at the Spring NSC District convention, and at Saturday's contest, the guys of HOCC pulled off a first-place showing in the District Chorus competiton with a winning performance of "Let's Burn Up The Town" and "If I Only Had A Brain." We're glad to have the District's traveling Championship trophy back in Durham for another year.
HOCC also brought home the 2015 Chorus of Note award, for the strongest chapter membership growth during 2014. We'd love to add more voices to our ensemble - come to one of our Thursday meetings and see what it's all about!
